The Board of Supervisors December Meeting will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Stephen J. Hinkle District Work Center, 15600 Jupiter Farms Road, Jupiter, FL 33478. The meeting will also be available via Zoom audio/video conferencing. If you would like to attend the meeting via Zoom use the following link:
Board of Supervisors December 5, 2024, Monthly Meeting
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. During the meeting everyone will be muted and video turned off. Landowners are requested to provide comments and requests to speak prior to the meeting via email at sirwcd@sirwcd.org. The comments will be heard during the Landowners’ Items, and you will be allowed 2 minutes on each item of the agenda you wish to speak about. Please contact the District Office if you have any questions.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that if a person decides to appeal any decision with respect to any matter considered at a meeting, a record of the proceedings will be needed for such purpose, and such person will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made, which record shall include the testimony and evidence upon which any appeal is to be made.

The District has received the 2024 Board of Supervisors’ certified election results from Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, Wendy Sartory Link, on November 6, 2024. Supervisors Susan Kennedy and John Meyer were re-elected to the Board. Please visit our Elections Page for complete election results.
Due to the tragic passing of District Board Member John Jones, there is a vacancy on the District’s Board of Supervisors. The Supervisors shall appoint a Landowner to fulfill the remainder of Mr. Jones term, until the 2025 Landowners’ Meeting when a new Board member will be elected. Under the District Charter, the vacant seat must be held by a landowner who resides East of Canal 18. The District is now accepting letters of interest and resumes from any East Side resident interested in serving on the Board. The Board intends to take the issue up at their regularly scheduled Board meeting on December 5, 2024, at 6:00 pm. Executive Director William Kennedy has been accepted into the Florida Association of Special Districts’ Certified District Manager Program and will take the course during their Quarterly Meeting from October 21-25, 2024, in St. Augustine.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of John Jones, a member of the Board of Supervisors, on September 19, 2024. District Supervisors, staff and employees extend their deepest sympathies and condolences to his wife Donelle and their children Kristine, Ross, Matt, and Drew. South Indian River Water Control District solicited proposals from qualified contractors to furnish all supervision, management and labor personnel, equipment, and materials as necessary for removing, reducing, and managing unwanted vegetation (both aquatic and terrestrial) in the District's stormwater management system. Trash and garbage removal is provided by Solid Waste Authority in the District. Should any damage result to swales or easements when landscape debris is picked up, please call the Solid Waste Authority Customer Information Services Department at 561-697-2700.
The Board of Supervisors approved the District's updated and revised Policies and Procedures Manual at their February 15, 2024 Board meeting. A minor revision was added on May 15, 2024.
