Annual Landowners Meeting
South Indian River Water Control District holds an annual meeting for landowners at 7:00 pm on the third Thursday of September at the District's Office. The Executive Director, District Engineer and District Treasure present their annual reports which provide an overview of District operations, management, maintenance and improvement projects for the past year. The primary purpose is for the election of Board Supervisors. Minutes from the previous year's Annual Landowners Meeting are also presented for approval.
Landowners are encouraged to attend the meeting, or attend via Zoom to hear the presentations, as well as ask questions or to address the board and staff.
Annual Landowners' Meeting & Election of Supervisors
September 19, 2024
The 2024 Annual Landowners Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Stephen J. Hinkle District Work Center Office, as well as though Zoom video/audio conferencing. The monthly Board Meeting will be held immediately prior to the Annual Meeting at 6:00 p.m.. Anyone may attend in person or may participate via Zoom by registering through the meeting link located under Latest News at the bottom of the DIstrict's website pages once the meeting is posted.
The Annual Landowners’ Meeting is for the purpose of:
1. Electing two (2) Supervisors for a term of three (3) years. At least one of the Supervisors to be elected must reside in the District. Candidates must own land in the District and must be residents of Palm Beach County.
2. Receiving annual reports and taking such action with respect thereto as the landowners may determine.
3. Setting compensation for the Board of Supervisors.
4. Transacting any other business as may properly come before the meeting.
Any interested Landowner may examine the ballots under the supervision of the Supervisor of Elections. Any objection to the election must be filed in writing by a Landowner with the Board of Supervisors no later than one (1) week from the date of the election.
If a person decides to appeal any decision with respect to any matter considered, a record of the proceedings will be needed for such purpose, and said person will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record shall include the testimony and evidence upon which any appeal is to be based.
